New market new expectations and attitude...
:-) It was a great day. I was very pushy and instead of waiting and waiting to get the go ahead I just sent an email saying I am coming, see you tomorrow. That resulted in an email back saying we are not ready but you can come today as a one off while we get ready... So off I went with my great new display, can you see my new shelves? they are at the back covered in the same pink as the tablecloth. It was a great morning, as you can see, the place is full of kids and dogs and happy customers getting their super fresh vegies, fruit, lettuce, fabulous bread, olive oil and flowers. It is great, there is a couple of organic growers and a lamb man, it is going to be a very successful market.. and they said it couldn't be done :-)
We had a lovely neighbour and a great location right next to the gate, when it rains it turns into a small lake but we were lucky today the weather was perfect. Stall holders get cheap coffee as well so we had a few to keep us warm, it was cold when the wind blew but I prefer to be cold.
I decided today not to hide from the customers so I set myself up at the front with some pieces wating for wiring so I could say hello to people as they came to browse. It was great fun and I had a really good time. My little shop looked wonderful and I think I have almost cracked the perfect set up, I still need to tweak the centre bit where the orange sticks are but I am getting closer all the time. Yay me :-)
Oh, I forgot to talk about the attitude and expectations.. I went along with VERY low expectations and a bright cheery chatting attitude and it worked a treat. I was also very happy to see that 95% of people came to the market with lots of their own bags for their goods, it was great.
